Annotate PDF Files Online — Free, Private, No Upload

Review a contract, mark up a draft, or leave feedback on a report — all directly in your browser. PeacefulPDF's annotator gives you highlights, freehand drawing, text notes, shapes, checkmarks, stamps, and signatures on top of any PDF.

Unlike other annotation tools, your document is never uploaded to a server. The PDF renders locally with the same engine browsers use, and your annotations are embedded into a new copy of the file with pdf-lib when you download.

That makes it safe for sensitive material: legal documents, medical records, unpublished manuscripts, or anything under NDA. Disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.

FAQ

What annotations can I add?

Highlights (press H), freehand drawing (D), text notes (T), rectangles, circles, arrows and other shapes (S), checkmarks and form symbols (F), stamps like "APPROVED" or "DRAFT", and drawn or uploaded signatures.

Are the annotations permanent?

Annotations are drawn into the downloaded PDF's content, so they show up in every viewer. Your original file is never modified.

Can I edit the PDF's existing text here?

The annotator adds markup on top of the document. To change the text itself, use the PDF Editor — it can edit existing text inline.
