The core scanner is deterministic on purpose: emails, phone numbers, card numbers (validated with the Luhn checksum), IBANs, and US SSNs are found with precise patterns — so what this tool claims to find, it actually finds, every time. No AI guesswork where it matters.

Person names can't be caught by patterns, so there's an optional AI pass: a local model suggests names it sees, and each suggestion becomes a checkbox you review — the model proposes, you decide. Redaction itself uses the same engine as our Redact tool: affected pages are re-rendered with the boxes burned in, so the covered values are physically absent from the output, and document metadata is cleared too.

Uploading a document to an online service in order to remove sensitive data from it has always been absurd. Here, the file with your customers' emails and your card numbers never leaves your machine.
